We’re excited to announce the release of our completely rebuilt Reservations Tab in ReservationKey. This update brings a modern design, more customization options, powerful AI search, and many small improvements to make managing reservations faster and easier.

In this post, I’ll walk you through all the new features and show how you can take advantage of them in your daily workflow.

A Modern, Rebuilt Interface

The new Reservations Tab has been rebuilt in an up-to-date programming language, making it faster and more flexible. Many fields are now clickable, so you can access details instantly without leaving the page.

  • Click on a price to see a detailed breakdown.
  • Click on taxes for a tax breakdown.
  • Click on a guest photo or star to see more details like contact information, notes, or expiring cards.

Managing Columns and Custom Views

You can now fully customize which columns appear in your Reservations Tab.

  • Use the Manage Columns option to turn fields on or off.
  • Add status, custom fields, and tax breakdowns directly to your view.
  • Drag and drop columns to reorder them.
  • Reset everything back to the default layout at any time.

Saved Views

One of the most powerful new features is Saved Views. After customizing your columns, you can save your setup and switch back to it anytime.

For example, you might create a:

  • Financial View (status, IDs, financial totals, and taxes)
  • Operational View (dates, guest details, status)

Smarter Row Actions

Selecting reservations with checkboxes now gives you quick access to actions such as:

  • Changing reservation status
  • Printing reservations (opens print dialog)
  • Hiding rows temporarily
  • Deleting reservations (if the user has permission)

Deletion is restricted based on user permissions and requires typing “delete” to confirm, ensuring extra security.

User Permissions

Users permissions also apply in the new Reservations Tab

  • If a user does not have delete privileges, the delete button won’t appear.
  • Similarly, if they are restricted from editing reservations, status-change options will not show up.

Filters, Simplified

The new Filters menu replaces the old checkboxes with a cleaner, more flexible dropdown.

You can now filter by:

  • Properties or rooms
  • Reservations with an outstanding balance
  • Tax-exempt reservations
  • Multiple statuses at once (previously limited to one)
  • Rate plans

AI-Powered Natural Language Search

One of the most exciting upgrades is the new AI search feature. Instead of manually adjusting filters, you can type a natural language query like:

  • “Show me reservations for Smith in July 2022”
  • “Show me reservations with an outstanding balance greater than $500”
  • “Show me reservations with more than two children”
  • “Show me reservations where the total price was more than $1,000”

The AI translates your request into the correct filters automatically.

International Formatting

For users outside the U.S., the new system supports localized formatting. You can now switch easily between dollar, pound, euro, and other currency symbols.

Classic View Still Available

We know change can take time. That’s why the classic Reservations Tab is still available. If you notice anything missing in the new tab, you can switch back at any time while we continue to expand features.

Conclusion

The new Reservations Tab in ReservationKey is more powerful, flexible, and modern than ever before. With custom columns, saved views, smarter filters, AI-powered search, and international support, you’ll be able to manage your reservations more efficiently.
